Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • Ice cubes
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Optional: sweetener of your choice (e.g., honey, sugar, agave syrup)

Instructions:

  • In a small bowl or cup, sift the matcha powder and cinnamon to remove any clumps.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of hot water to the matcha powder.
  • Use a whisk or a matcha whisk (chasen) to whisk the mixture vigorously until smooth and frothy.
  • If desired, add sweetener to taste and stir until dissolved.
  • Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the prepared matcha mixture over the ice.
  • In a separate container, heat the milk until hot but not boiling. Froth the milk using a milk frother or by vigorously shaking it in a tightly sealed container until it becomes frothy.
  • Pour the frothed milk over the matcha and ice. Stir gently to combine.
  • Optionally, sprinkle some additional matcha powder or cinnamon on top for garnish. Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing iced matcha latte!
